In 9 months, Don and I will celebrate our 10th aniversary. I can’t believe it….where did all of that time go? I’m so excited to celebrate this miletsone – I have the best husand ever. He is such a wonderful friend and an amazing father to Reagan and Rylee. We are planning to take a trip somewhere to celebrate. (any suggestions? It can’t cost a fortune cause we definitely don’t have one)

So anyway, I have a goal – I want to get back to my pre-Reagan weight before October rolls around. That means I have to lose about 25 pounds. ugghhhh… Here are some things that I am doing to try and get my you-know-what back in shape:

  • No Sweet Tea or Coffee (this is huge for me, I’m an addict – but I haven’t had any since Christmas!)
  • Water, Water, Water!
  • Avoid sugar during the week (after the Daniel Fast is over, I plan to allow sugar in moderation on the weekends)
  • No fried foods – at all
  • Add lots of fresh veggies and salad
  • I put milled flax seed in everything – it’s so good for you – and it’s easy to incorporate into your diet since you really can’t taste it in other foods)
  • No red meat – we are eating chicken, turkey and fish only except for special occasions
  • Whole wheat products only
  • Starting to add workouts into my routine – this has been difficult during the week with the babies but I’m trying! The Biggest Loser Small Group at church is helping with this one – it’s pretty much kicking my butt.

So – it’s not really a resolution, because I suck at those – but it is a goal that I feel is necessary and attainable. So, what about you? Do you have any health goals and what have you done to try and meet them?

You can do it! Daniel and I sat down in the beginning of the month and wrote out goals for the year. Both of us are determined to reach superior health. He’s very disciplined and I’m on and off usually. This year so far I’ve stuck to it. My motivation is babies! I want to be feeling the best ever when we decide to have our first baby. This will give me (and baby) the greatest advantage. Like you, I’ve made some pretty strict changes in my diet and workout routine. I guess my mind and will is stronger than I thought because it hasn’t been too tough. One thing we do (most days) that cause us to feel and see a difference almost immediately is cut off our meals at least 4 hours before bedtime. The earlier, the better. That way your body has time to digest the food (even healthy food) before you settle in and sleep. Daniel teaches his patients this when they really want to see results. And they do, fast! It’s hard going to sleep hungry sometimes, but I feel great in the morning and I’m ready for a good breakfast!

If you want a killer butt workout that requires no equipment, go to goop.com and look under DO (I think). It’s a home video by Tracey Anderson. Anything she teaches, I follow and let me tell you, it’s awesome and painful.

    This is long… sorry.

    Good luck! love,me

Well, I defifinitely know you can do it. Cause I just know it can be done when you’ve made up your mind that enough is enough. Y

ou’ve already slimmed down quite a bit it appears. I don’t know what the scales is telling you, but everytime I see you, you look thinner to me. And I’m not just saying that.

Johnny showed us all a 8 mo. prego pictures of you the other night he had on his phone, and aside from the baby belly, it is amazing how much smaller you are everywhere! That picture made me realize just how much. (Just so you know he threatened to send it out into the Twitterosphere and I told him he better not unless he wanted you to hunt him down and kill him!) ;)

Although I haven’t necessarily put back on the weight I took off almost two years ago, alot of the healthy habits that were part of my life I have allowed to slowly fizzle. So, that’s what I’ve been working on whipping back into shape here lately. I want to exercise 3-4 times a week not just to keep in shape, but because it’s just good for me in many ways. The sugar, and processed stuff has just got to be CUT OUT of my diet, period. Not just for me, but for Anthony and the kids. I want them to live and eat healthy. Because forming healthy eating and exercise habits for your kids while they’re little and don’t have a choice, I believe is a gift you give them for the rest of their lives.

Oh, although, I wish I could help out with cool ideas for a inexpensive anniversary getaway for you and your Smoochie, I wouldn’t know, we aren’t vacation people because we don’t have a fortune either. ;) When the choices are: diapers, groceries and bills vs. vacation, the first ones always seem to win over. Althought, we’re starting to realize that we need to make time away just for fun more of a priority when we can. <3

  3. You can do it! It may seem difficult at first, but you probably have an advantage because your body is detoxed from the fast!
An inexpensive place to go… I don’t know. I may have to get back to you on that one!
